Nick Hoffman 10th in North/South 100 at Florence Speedway
Taking advantage of a World of Outlaws (WoO) off weekend, Nick Hoffman joined the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at Kentucky’s Florence Speedway for the 43rd annual Sunoco North/South 100 presented by Lucas Oil.
Using the event as a tune-up for his WoO championship pursuit, Hoffman posted an 11th-place finish in Thursday’s preliminary before improving to ninth in Friday’s 25-lapper, setting himself up for a prime starting spot in heat races on Saturday.
On Saturday, he started from the front row of his heat race and led every lap to score a convincing win over Ricky Thornton Jr., securing his spot in the $75,000-to-win North/South 100. In the 100-lap finale, however, Hoffman struggled to maintain pace and ultimately crossed the finish line in 10th.
