Nick Hoffman Claims LOLMDS' C.J. Rayburn Memorial at Brownstown
Secures First Career Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Victory
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (09/29/25) – Nick Hoffman held off a last-lap charge from Brandon Sheppard to win Friday’s C.J. Rayburn Memorial at Brownstown Speedway, earning his first career Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) victory in a dramatic photo finish.
The $12,000 triumph marked Hoffman’s ninth overall win of the 2025 season.
“JD was in the lead there, and I just didn’t know where to be," Hoffman said. "I was just trying to play with him a little because Ricky was beside me, and I was trying to get around Jason Jameson. Finally, I cleared him, and then I could run where I wanted. Devin showed me his nose there, and he was able to get by me on that restart, which got me back on the outside. On a restart, our car was good. It was just about picking the right lanes, but I ended up losing at the end, and I reached a point where I couldn’t run where I wanted to. So, I started playing defense, and with Sheppy behind you, he’s probably the cleanest guy out there.”
Hoffman’s doubleheader weekend at the Indiana oval began with a strong showing, timing in second fastest overall in Friday’s qualifying before capturing a heat race win. Starting fourth in the feature, Hoffman took the lead on lap 29 and survived a fierce late-race challenge from Sheppard to score the 40-lap victory.
On Saturday, Hoffman again qualified second in his group and backed it up with a heat race win. However, in the 47th annual Jackson 100 feature, he faded four positions over the 100-lap distance to finish eighth.

Hoffman now turns his attention to a Kansas doubleheader this weekend, beginning Friday at Humboldt Speedway and continuing Saturday with the $20,000-to-win Ed Gressel Tribute at 81 Speedway.
