Hoffman begins World of Outlaws pursuit at Volusia Speedway Park
Nick Hoffman’s pursuit of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series championship got underway this past weekend as Volusia Speedway Park hosted the seventh annual Sunshine Nationals in Florida.
Hoffman turned in his strongest performance of the three-race slate on Thursday night, pairing a heat race victory with a runner-up finish in the 35-lap feature to join race winner Chris Madden and second-place finisher Brandon Sheppard on the podium.
He followed up with a solid fifth-place showing on Friday before closing out the weekend with a ninth-place finish in Saturday’s $20,000-to-win Sunshine Nationals finale.
With the strong weekend in the books, Hoffman exits the half-mile oval ranked second in the World of Outlaws standings, trailing points leader Brandon Sheppard by 13 markers.
