Nick Hoffman Claims $7,000 Victory in DIRTcar Nationals Opener at Volusia

WoO’s Tennessee Tipoff at Smoky Mountain Speedway Up Next

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (02/17/25) – Nick Hoffman found immediate success in his brand new Longhorn Chassis this past week with a $7,000 victory in Monday’s DIRTcar Nationals opener at Volusia Speedway Park.

Hoffman’s win at Volusia Speedway Park, driving the Tye Twarog Racing / NOS Energy Drink No. 9 Super Late Model powered by a Clements Racing Engine, marked the 25th time in his career that he has claimed the coveted Gator trophy.

“I feel like I just know what to expect out of my car here,” Hoffman said regarding his continued success at Volusia. “I know what it should feel like to be good, and I feel like that’s translated from the Modified to the Late Model. Knowing what I need to do to make raw speed, I’m just good at big, sweeping ½-miles. It’s something that I’ve always been good at. Finally got this thing where it steers and I can maneuver wherever I want, I feel like that’s the most important thing about this place.”

After spending the previous week as a crew chief to Kenny Wallace in an Elite Chassis, Nick Hoffman returned to Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Fla.) on Monday to compete in the Super Late Model portion of the 54th Annual Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals.

On the first night out in a brand new Longhorn Chassis, Hoffman clocked in second-fastest overall before picking up a heat race win. Tracking down early leader Cade Dillard on the 11th circuit of the feature, Nick paced the remainder of Monday’s opener to claim his first win of the season and the $7,000 payday.

The win represented Hoffman’s 25th DIRTcar Nationals victory.

Following a 10th-place finish in Tuesday’s feature, Nick's shredded right-rear tire in Wednesday’s preliminary brought an abrupt end to his night on lap 13.

With the final three rounds turning World of Outlaws (WoO) Case Late Model Series sanctioned, Hoffman faced more bad luck in Thursday's $10,000-to-win A-Main. Locking his spot into the feature via a consolation victory, Nick’s hard contact with the wall on lap 23 forced him pitside.

Rebounding on Friday and Saturday, Nick backed up a sixth-place finish on Friday with a consistent podium finish in Saturday’s $20,000-to-win DIRTcar Nationals finale. Hoffman climbed one spot in the 50-lap affair to register a third-place finish, joining race-winner Jonathan Davenport and runner-up Drake Troutman on the podium.

With the Sunshine and DIRTcar Nationals now complete, Hoffman departs Volusia sitting fourth in the latest World of Outlaws point standings.

Hoffman is scheduled to rejoin the World of Outlaws in mid-March for the Tennessee Tipoff at Smoky Mountain Speedway. The event kicks off Friday with a preliminary feature offering a $12,000 top prize, followed by Saturday’s $15,000-to-win finale.
