Nick Hoffman drives to seventh in Firecracker Faceoff opener at I-55
Nick Hoffman returned to familiar territory over the weekend as the World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series invaded Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 for the two-day St. Louis Firecracker Faceoff.
With the DIRTcar Summer Nationals joining to contribute to a massive 52-car field, Hoffman secured a spot in Friday’s preliminary feature with a runner-up finish in his heat race. Hunting the $12,000 payday, he moved forward four positions in the A-Main to a commendable seventh-place finish.
On Saturday, Hoffman again advanced into the redraw with a second-place heat result. However, he was unable to replicate Friday’s pace in the $20,000-to-win finale, ultimately crossing the line in 11th after 40 laps.
Hoffman remains in second in the latest WoO standings.
