Nick Hoffman Earns DIRTcar Nationals Title at Volusia Speedway Park
Three Wins in Six Races Secure Big Gator Trophy
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Feb. 16, 2026) — Nick Hoffman added another achievement to his decorated résumé this past weekend at Volusia Speedway Park, capturing the 55th annual DIRTcar Nationals title in the Tye Twarog Racing / NOS Energy Drink No. 9 Late Model.
Hoffman earned three victories in six starts to claim his first career Big Gator Trophy in the Late Model division, joining Tim McCreadie as just the second driver in history to capture the coveted award in two divisions.
“To race for a whole week here, it takes a lot,” Hoffman said. “Not having any issues, no DNFs or anything, it went about as smooth as it could, I feel like.”
The six-race swing began steadily, with Hoffman finishing fifth on Monday and seventh on Tuesday. When the 59-car field was divided into three groups on Wednesday, he capitalized on a lap-13 restart in his preliminary feature, charging from third to first and driving away to claim the $5,000 victory.
With the remainder of the week sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, Hoffman’s momentum only intensified.
On Thursday, he delivered a commanding performance, leading every lap of both his heat race and the 35-lap feature to secure his second win of the week.
Friday followed a similar script. After pacing his qualifying group and winning his heat race, Hoffman powered past Ricky Thornton Jr. early in the feature and controlled the distance to earn his third victory and back-to-back $12,000 paydays.
On Saturday, Hoffman locked into the $20,000-to-win finale with another heat race triumph. He led early in the 50-lap main event but ultimately settled for fourth after being overtaken by a charging Brandon Sheppard.

The World of Outlaws Late Model Series resumes competition this weekend at Hendry County Motorsports Park for the Swamp Cabbage 100. Friday’s opener pays $12,000 to win, followed by Saturday’s $20,000-to-win finale.
