Runner-up with World of Outlaws at Smoky Mountain Speedway

The first event following Speedweeks brought Nick Hoffman and 34 World of Outlaws Late Model Series entries to Volunteer Speedway for the Rocky Top Rumble.

With Friday’s program opening a two-race Tennessee weekend, Hoffman followed a third-place finish in his heat with a ninth-place result in the 40-lap feature.

At Smoky Mountain Speedway on Saturday, Hoffman backed it up with a runner-up finish in his heat to lock into the $20,000-to-win Tennessee Tipoff. He then drove his Tye Twarog Motorsports entry to a strong second-place finish, joining race-winner Bobby Pierce and Ricky Thornton Jr. on the podium.

Hoffman sits just seven points behind Pierce in the latest World of Outlaws standings.
