Hoffman finishes second in Illini 100, regains WoO points lead
Nick Hoffman returned to familiar territory over the weekend, following the World of Outlaws Late Model Series to Farmer City Raceway for the annual Illini 100.
Hoffman was among 40 entries for Friday’s preliminary program and raced to a third-place finish in the 50-lap feature.
He improved by one position in Saturday’s finale, driving his Tye Twarog Motorsports No. 9 Late Model to a runner-up finish in the $25,000-to-win, 60-lap Illini 100 finale. Hoffman joined race winner Bobby Pierce and third-place finisher Brandon Sheppard on the podium.
With the weekend results, Hoffman reclaimed the World of Outlaws Late Model Series points lead and now holds a two-point advantage over Pierce atop the standings.
