Nick Hoffman
Runner-up in Spring Shootout at FALS with Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
Nick Hoffman navigated the rain-threatened Illinois Speedweek with the FloRacing Night in America Series by kicking off the stretch at Spoon River Speedway (Canton, Ill.) with a $20,000-to-win show after losing the series opener on Tuesday evening.
Hoffman raced his way into Wednesday's 50-lap feature with a seventh-to-third charge in his heat. Nick then challenged for a Top-5 position before settling for sixth. The following night's FloRacing event at Lincoln (Ill.) Speedway was washed out after rain showers hit the facility during heat races.
The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series weekend opener at Farmer City (Ill.) Raceway was also lost to Mother Nature. Hoffman was finally able to hit the track again on Saturday night at Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway for the Spring Shootout.
Finishing second in his heat race, Nick started seventh in the $30,000-to-win weekend finale and stormed into a podium finish. He finished one spot shy of the victory behind Brandon Sheppard.
